What Channel Is GAC On Dish Network?

The Great American Channel (GAC) is on Channel 165 for Dish Network customers. They also have a sister channel called GAC Living that you can watch on Channel 248.
Dish has simplified the channel-finding process compared to cable providers like Comcast and Spectrum.
Channel numbers except for broadcast channels are identical throughout the country.

Christmas Movies on GAC
Dish has put the GAC Channel on Channel 165 for their subscribers and most of the time the channel plays reruns of classic shows.
That could be disappointing for people who want to watch their Christmas and romance movies but you’re not entirely out of luck.
You can watch some of GAC’s movie slate on weekdays from 6 PM to 10 PM. Prior to the holiday season, that’s the only time these movies are available.
There are no movies on weekends. A positive note is that GAC releases new movies, including Christmas movies throughout the year.
One recent example was A Belgian Chocolate Christmas which came out in July.
GAC will go all out on Christmas movies in November when it’ll dial down the reruns and release its new slate of movies.
In 2021, GAC had 13 movies and in 2022 it had 18 movies. Here’s hoping that they’re able to do over 30 this year.
GAC Channel Schedule On Dish
When GAC isn’t showing Christmas movies on Dish on Channel 165, they generally play reruns.
Currently, they air classic shows like Columbo, Murder, She Wrote, and Little House On the Prairie.
During the weekend, they have 24-hour marathons of Murder, She Wrote on Saturday and Columbo on Sunday.
For weekdays, it starts with Columbo, then Murder, She Wrote, and then Little House on the Prairie.
One exciting thing about GAC on Dish is that they have a second GAC channel called GAC Living.
GAC Living has syndicated content like The Lone Ranger and Bonanza but creates original programming as well.
Some of their most popular shows are Going RV, First Time Flippers, and Log Cabin Kings.
GAC Living is like a more modern version of HGTV. It focuses more on Middle America than million-dollar listings in New York or LA.
Other Ways To Watch The Great American Channel
You have two other options to watch GAC on Dish besides Channel 165.
Unfortunately, there’s no option to watch on the GAC site and the other two options are watching on Dish’s other platforms.
These platforms are the Dish website and app. It operates under the brand name Dish Anywhere.
With Dish Anywhere, you can log into your Dish account and watch GAC and other channels.
It’s convenient to be able to watch on the go on your phone although that’s generally a smaller screen.
For both options, you should be able to cast to a smart TV. There’s some level of DVR recording for both platforms if you can’t watch a new movie or show when it comes out.
