NBC Superstations On DirecTV

There’s several superstation channels where NBC will have more local programming on Directv compared to a regular NBC affiliate.

In our research, we found KNBC, NBC Bay Area, WTVJ, WMAQ, and KSNV.

California has two super affiliates – KNBC and NBC Bay Area. KNBC is for Los Angeles and is on Channel 4 while NBC Bay Area is on Channel 11 and serves the San Francisco area.

The surrounding cities in LA and SF share the same channels as the big cities.

So, if you’re in Oakland, Channel 11 is where you want to go for NBC while if you’re in the San Fernando Valley, Channel 4 is the right place for NBC.

For Miami and South Florida, NBC is known as WTVJ and it’s on Channel 6.

Channel 5 in Chicago is WMAQ and Channel 3 in Las Vegas is KSNV. There’s some great shows in these cities that are related to topics that only local residents would care about.

Another thing we wanted to mention was Louisville where you have the option to watch not just on Channel 3 but also on Channel 13.

It’s the only place that we’ve found in our research where that’s the case.

Texas & California DIRECTV NBC Channels

Besides LA and SF, there’s other big cities where Directv customers might want to watch NBC in California on lowered number channels.

San Diego residents can watch the lowered number NBC channel on 39 while those in Bakersfield will have to surf to Channel 17.

Channel 3 is the right channel number for NBC in Sacramento while 24 is the right number for Fresno.

People in Texas really love their freedom and we’ve found that applies to organizing NBC channel numbers in the state.

None of the numbers have anything to do with each other. The easiest way to find the right lowered number channel number for Texas is just to look at a summary of the major cities.

Higher Numbered Channels

Most of the time broadcast channels are the first channels that you’ll see in your TV guide.

Unfortunately, in some cities that have DirecTV, that’s not the case and NBC is on channels like 41 and 36.

It makes it a lot harder to find the right channel. We found them though, so you don’t have to flip through your TV guide for the right channel.

The most popular high-numbered NBC channel is 36. That’s the right channel number for Austin and Charlotte.

23 is the channel number for Brownsville while 24 is the channel number for Fresno.

To round it out, San Diego residents can watch NBC on Channel 39 while those who live in Kansas City will need to go to Channel 41 instead.

Lower Numbered Channels

By far, the most popular channel to watch NBC on Directv is Channel 4.

8 is the right channel in cities like Washington DC, Seattle, New York, Oklahoma City, and Nashville.

Channel 5 is a close second with 5 cities that we’ve researched where it’s the right channel to watch NBC.

These cities are St Louis, Memphis, Seattle, Fort Worth, and Colorado Springs.

Other channels where you can often find NBC include Channel 10 and 11.
